Arias combined with lefthander Sixto Torres to form a formidable duo for Faith Baptist Christian School this spring. Like Torres, Arias has a big frame and the upside to match. He is listed at 6-foot-4, 230 pounds, and his fastball can get up to 94 mph, but more typically sits 89-90. He has the makings of a good slider, and when he stays on top of the pitch it can be an above-average offering. Like many young power pitchers, Arias still needs to work on his changeup and refine his delivery so he can better command his fastball. He is committed to Seminole State (Fla.) JC.
