Texas A&M Dismisses Stubblefield From Team

Texas A&M dismissed junior lefthander Tyler Stubblefield from the program, coach Rob Childress announced Thursday.
“Tyler has been dismissed from the team based on violations of team rules,” Childress said in a statement. “We wish Tyler the very best moving forward in his pursuit of his college degree and his baseball career.”
Stubblefield missed most of last season after tearing his ACL, but returned in time to pitch in the NCAA Tournament. He was projected to be in Texas A&M’s weekend rotation this spring. In 21 career appearances for the Aggies, Subblefield went 4-2, 4.06 with 71 strikeouts in 71 innings.
Stubblefield ranked No. 64 on the college Top 100 draft prospects list released earlier this month.
Texas A&M, which enters the season ranked No. 3, still has senior righthander Kyle Simonds at the front of its rotation. Sophomore righthanders Corbin Marin and Jace Vines, a transfer from Tyler (Texas) JC, as well as freshman Tyler Ivey are the leading candidates for the remaining slots in the Aggies’ rotaion.
