Reliever Onelki Garcia, a 26-year-old Cuban lefthander, lost his 40-man roster spot early in the 2015 season and didn’t pitch well enough in 38 minor league appearances to earn his way back. (He also passed through the Rule 5 draft unselected.) He struck out a combined 11.6 batters per nine innings at Double-A Birmingham and Triple-A Charlotte but allowed far too many baserunners (1.66 WHIP) on his way to a 4.82 ERA.
If healthy, Garcia has shown he can keep the ball on the ground and strike out same-side batters (30 percent in 2015), so it’s not too late for a potential matchup-relief role.

Listed at 6-foot-1 and 240 pounds, Justin Chigbogu starred as an all-state football defensive end at his Raytown, Mo., high school before the Dodgers made him a fourth-round pick in 2012. He led the Rookie-level Pioneer League with 20 home runs (in 67 games) in 2014, but in two tries at low Class A Great Lakes he hit just .198/.263/.374 with 16 homers in 118 games—but also 36 percent strikeouts.
