College Top 25 (Feb. 22)

Florida swept its season-opening series against Florida Gulf Coast and remains No. 1 in the Baseball America Top 25—powered by Louisville Slugger—after college baseball’s opening weekend.

The top seven teams remain unchanged in the rankings after all finished the weekend with winning records. Three new teams entered the top 10, however, as Louisiana State, Houston and Louisiana-Lafayette all moved up.

Two new teams enter the Top 25 this week, as North Carolina and Georgia Tech join the rankings at No. 20 and 23, respectively. North Carolina won its series at UCLA, and Georgia Tech went undefeated in the Atlanta Challenge to jump into the rankings.

With the entrance of North Carolina and Georgia Tech, the Atlantic Coast Conference joins the Southeastern Conference with seven teams in the rankings, the most of any conference.

The staff of Baseball America determines the Top 25 rankings. Records indicated are through games of Feb. 21 and do not include ties.
