The home of Hadlock Field (pictured at left) and the Eastern League’s Sea Dogs, Portland is home to a vibrant fishing community and was recently voted by TripAdvisor as one of its 10 destinations on the rise for 2016.

Every ballot from a voter in the Eastern League named Portland as the best road city, and it also got votes from outside the league. This helped it upset larger markets that have franchises in other major sports and even Las Vegas, which would have seemed like an obvious favorite going in.
