Baltimore Orioles

—No. 9 prospect Dean Kremer pitched three scoreless innings against the Twins, striking out three and walking one after allowing three runs in 1.2 innings in his first spring performance. The 25-year-old righthander will assume a role in the Orioles’ Opening Day rotation after starting four times in 2020.

—No. 14 prospect Bruce Zimmermann followed Kremer with a three-inning scoreless performance, striking out two and walking one.

Chicago White Sox

—No. 2 prospect Michael Kopech and No. 4 prospect Garrett Crochet each pitched a scoreless inning against the Padres. Both pitchers struck out a batter, although Crochet walked two.

Cincinnati Reds

—No. 9 prospect Tony Santillan and No. 14 prospect Vladimir Gutierrez each pitched two scoreless innings against the Dodgers. Gutierrez struck out four and walked one while Santillan struggled with control and issued three walks to go with three strikeouts.

Cleveland Indians

—No. 14 prospect Logan Allen struck out six batters and allowed a run on two hits in three innings against the Rangers. The 23-year-old lefthander should be in line to make his big league debut in 2021, where he could help as a long reliever or spot starter.

—No. 4 prospect Tyler Freeman hit a two-run home run in his lone at-bat against the Rangers.

Colorado Rockies

—No. 1 prospect Brendan Rodgers hit a two-run home run, doubled and scored twice against the Diamondbacks. The 24-year-old shortstop/second baseman will look to get back on track this season and exhaust his rookie eligibility after injuries have plagued his progress the last two years.

New York Yankees

—No. 2 prospect Deivi Garcia struck out five batters and allowed two hits in three scoreless innings against the Tigers. The 21-year-old righthander should make the Yankees’ Opening Day roster after going 3-2, 4.98 in six starts in 2020.

Philadelphia Phillies

—No. 10 prospect Nick Maton hit his second double of the spring and drove in a run in his only at-bat against the Blue Jays. The 24-year-old shortstop spent last summer at the alternate site, where he worked on improving his pitch recognition skills against advanced pitching.

—No. 13 prospect Mickey Moniak tripled and later scored in his only at-bat. The 22-year-old outfielder has started the spring 5-for-9 with two home runs and four extra-base hits.

Pittsburgh Pirates

—No. 1 prospect Ke’Bryan Hayes hit his fourth double of the spring and scored twice against the Braves. The 24-year-old third baseman is one of the frontrunners for NL rookie of the year after hitting .376/.442/.682 with five home runs in 24 games in 2020.

—No. 10 prospect Miguel Yajure struck out two batters in two scoreless innings in his second spring appearance.

Tampa Bay Rays

—No. 5 prospect Shane McClanahan struck out the side in his inning of work against the Red Sox. The 23-year-old lefthander allowed a hit and struck out one in his first spring appearance on March 3.
