Yankees 2025 first-round pick Dax Kilby appeared in his first game of the 2026 season, rehabbing in the Florida Complex League, after being out all season with a nagging hamstring injury. He started at shortstop and played three innings there. He went 0-for-2 at the plate, flying out to left in the first inning and striking out swinging in the third.

Coming into the season, Kilby was seen as one of the most promising prospects from the 2025 draft after a strong debut in which he hit .353/.457/.441 in 19 games with Low-A Tampa. Kilby ranks No. 46 in the Top 100 and is the No. 2 prospect in the Yankees’ system.
