Welcome to Baseball America’s April update of our 2026 MLB Draft rankings, which expands the list to the top 400 players in the class and incorporates the latest industry feedback throughout the country.
UCLA shortstop Roch Cholowsky continues to lead the class and looks as convincing as ever as a slam-dunk 1-1 candidate. Texas high school shortstop Grady Emerson heads the next group of players, which also includes Georgia Tech catcher Vahn Lackey, UC Santa Barbara righthander Jackson Flora and toolshed high school hitters Jacob Lombard and Eric Booth Jr.
A number of the top college hitters in the class have struggled offensively in conference play and are slipping because of it, while college arms who continue to stack solid outings are trending up.
Arkansas leads all schools with nine players ranked in the top 400. Florida State and UCLA are tied for second with eight players. NC State, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Tennessee each have seven players. Orange Lutheran High in California leads all high school programs with four ranked players.
The SEC dominates the list in terms of ranked commitments. LSU (15) leads the way, followed by Vanderbilt (13), Tennessee (11), Texas (9), Stanford (8) and Mississippi State (7).
