Yankees’ Allen Facundo Locks Up The Keys
When he’s right, Yankees lefthander Allen Facundo can put huge numbers on the board. That’s true of his fastball velocity and his strikeout totals. Thursday was one of those nights. Facing the Frederick Keys, Facundo went six hitless, shutout innings, walking four and striking out a dozen. His heater sizzled in the mid-to-upper 90s all night, and by the time he yielded the hill, he’d coaxed 20 swings and misses. The gem came just two weeks after Facundo punched out a dozen Brooklyn hitters over five three-run innings, and it brings his season total to 72 strikeouts in 46.1 innings between both Class A levels.
