Brice Turang, 2B, Brewers: The rookie infielder broke the game wide open in the fifth with a grand slam. It was Turang’s first career major league home run, and he had a 2-for-3 day at the plate. Turang got on base four times and tallied his second consecutive multi-hit game on Monday. The Brewers No. 4 prospect is not known for his power, but his combination of bat-to-ball skills, plus speed and average or better defensive skills earned him a starting role in the Brewers lineup out of camp.

Hunter Brown, RHP, Astros: In his first start of the season, Brown faced his hometown Tigers in Houston. The righthander allowed four runs on six hits and three walks while striking out five in 4.2 innings. He generated seven swinging strikes on the day, three against his knuckle curveball and two each against his slider and splitter.

Triston Casas, 1B, Red Sox: The Red Sox hit three home runs in the first inning on Monday, with the final home run of the inning coming off the bat of the team’s No. 2 prospect. Casas pulled the ball around the Pesky Pole in right field for his first home run of the season. Casas and fellow rookie Masataka Yoshida form a powerful combination in the middle of the Red Sox lineup.

Masataka Yoshida, OF, Red Sox: The Red Sox biggest offseason addition has stayed hot to begin the season following a standout performance in the World Baseball Classic. Yoshida connected for his first major league home run in the first inning, sending a 96 mph fastball to the opposite field over the Green Monster. The ball left the bat at 104.6 mph.

Gunnar Henderson, 3B, Orioles: After a spring training to forget, the top prospect in baseball got back on the bright side of the box score with a home run off of Jon Gray in the fourth inning of Monday’s 2-0 victory over the Rangers. It was a welcome sign of life for Henderson, who slumped through the spring and the opening weekend of the season.
