High School Top 25: April 20

Many of the usual suspects remain atop the rankings, with powerhouses Coppell (Texas) High and Archbishop McCarthy (Southwest Ranches, Fla.) sitting at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively.

One of the biggest risers in this week’s poll is Deer Park (Texas) High, which remains unbeaten in Texas’s highly competitive 6A classification.

Another team on the rise is Verdigris High (Claremore, Okla.), which enters the rankings this week following a 21-0 start. Verdigris is lead by senior Peyton Battenfield, a two-way player that has served as the ace of the pitching staff. Battenfield is committed to Oklahoma State.

These rankings are compiled via a poll of the Baseball Coaches Association (BCA) and Baseball America. Records are as of April 16.
