Taylor Trammell, OF, Padres. Trammell only managed one hit in five at-bats but it was critical for Double-A Amarillo in their comeback victory over Double-A Tulsa to win the Texas League finals. Down 3-1 in the ninth inning, Trammell cracked a grand slam to right field to put Amarillo on top 5-1. Teammate Hudson Potts added a three-run shot to strengthen the lead and Amarillo never looked back. Over his last 10 games, Trammell has hit .310 (13-for-42) with three homers and 11 RBIs.
Alek Thomas, OF, Diamondbacks. Thomas played a big role on Saturday for high Class A Visalia in their victory over Lake Elsinore for the California League title. After collecting a double in the eighth inning, Thomas came up again in the tenth inning with a man on base. After seeing a 3-0 lead evaporate, Thomas smacked a walk-off RBI double for the Rawhide. Thomas ended the season by collecting a hit in three straight contests, having reached high Class A Visalia this season while just turning 19 in April.
Nick Pratto, 1B, Royals. Pratto had two hits in four at-bats for high Class A Wilmington. With a 1-0 game heading into the ninth inning, Prato ripped an RBI double to right field to add an insurance run. Wilmington went on to blank Fayetteville and take home the Carolina League trophy for 2019. The Royals’ affiliates had an excellent run this season, coming away as the champions of four different leagues. They won the Carolina League (Wilmington), South Atlantic League (Lexington), Pioneer League (Idaho Falls) and the Dominican Summer League (DSL Royals 1).
