SEE THE FULL MOCK DRAFT

Last time we did a mock draft, we pointed out that while it was cliche to say college hitters will rise up draft boards during the season, it would happen.

Well, a month later and that’s exactly what has happened. A trio of college hitters have pushed themselves into top-10 consideration who weren’t quite at that level before. Those players’ jumps were reflected in yesterday’s updated draft rankings (which also expanded to 300 players) along with plenty of other movement.

But, with the BA 300 published and a good chunk of baseball having been played, we wanted to have another go at mocking the first round. While there are some rumors about how the draft is going to unfold at the very top, it’s necessary to point out the obvious: it is still just March 21, with more than 70 days between now and the June 3 draft.

Things will change and most teams still aren’t sure who they are going to draft, though there does seem to be a clear top tier of four players as well as a few solid bets to go among the top 10.

With the hedging out of the way, let’s take our best crack at predicting the first round as everything stands today . . . in March.
