School: Florida Drafted/Committed: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 22.0
BA Grade: 45/High
Heyman went unselected as a draft-eligible sophomore in 2024 after batting .246/.342/.481 with 16 home runs, 14 doubles and a 24.3% strikeout rate. He rebounded with a career year in 2025, hitting .301/.397/.578 with 13 home runs, seven doubles and a much-improved 18.6% strikeout rate in just 49 games. His season ended prematurely due to a fractured forearm, which is expected to be fully healed by the draft. An ultra-physical 6-foot-4, 220-pound righthanded hitter, Heyman offers plus raw power and improving swing decisions. He generates carry and lift to the pull side, even on pitches thrown in the outer half of the zone. While Heyman struggled somewhat with offspeed pitches, particularly changeups, he crushed velocity, a byproduct of solid bat speed and rhythm. He stays balanced through his swing and can punish mistakes over the plate. Heyman is a well-below-average athlete, which shows up in his limited range of motion, choppy running stride and heavy lower half. Scouts believe he has a chance to stick behind the plate thanks to above-average arm strength and improved receiving and blocking. He presented pitches more cleanly than in years past and showed a feel for handling a staff.

Track Record: Heyman was a well-known high schooler and seemed close to cementing his status as a prominent draft prospect by earning all-SEC freshman team honors in 2023. But he had a down year as a draft-eligible sophomore in 2024 and his 24% strikeout rate raised hit tool questions. He bounced back with a strong 2025 campaign, hitting .301/.397/.578 with 13 homers, and the Mariners took him in the 14th round and signed him for $230,000, on par with eighth-round money. The Red Sox acquired him in a November trade for reliever Alex Hoppe.
Scouting Report: Heyman made strides in his junior spring by slashing his strikeout rate to 19% while improving his receiving and strike-stealing defensively. At the plate, Heyman crouches in his batting stance, then unfolds and unloads on pitches, particularly down in the zone. He demonstrated above-average pullside power that could translate to Fenway. In 2025, his swing was more adjustable and he did a better job using the whole field, especially with two strikes. He has always had a strong arm with pop times under two seconds, but in 2025, he showed progress as a receiver, with scouts seeing an average defender, while data measured an above-average strike-stealer.
The Future: Heyman has the components to be a platoon catcher, with a chance for more if he builds upon his 2025 offensive and defensive progress.

Age At Draft: 21
Heyman is a big 6-foot-4, 220-pound catcher who has stood out for his power since his prep days. A draft-eligible sophomore, Heyman homered 12 times in his 2023 season with Florida though that power did come with a 24.5% strikeout rate. He might always be more of a power-over-hit player, but that could profile nicely if he is able to stick behind the plate, where a strong arm could be another asset for him. -
School: Lake Brantley HS, Altamonte Springs, Fla. Committed/Drafted: Florida
Age At Draft: 19
Heyman is a 6-foot-3, 205-pound power-oriented catcher. He has plenty of strength offensively with solid power projection moving forward, though he can get pull-happy at times and some scouts have questions about his overall hit tool. Because of those hit questions, most evaluators view him as a power-over-hit offensive player who will provide in-game impact and home runs, but at the cost of whiffs and a lower average. Defensively, he needs to refine his actions and receiving, but he has a strong arm that has been given above-average and plus grades and could allow him to control the running game at the next level. Heyman is viewed as a fourth-to-10th-round talent now, but could considerably improve his draft stock if he makes it to campus at Florida and proves his hitting chops in the SEC.
