  A 6-foot-2, 205-pound lefthander, Sando pitched mostly out of the bullpen for Santa Clara during his first two seasons but made five starts during the 2022 season after managing a career-best strikeout rate. The lefty posted a 2.81 ERA over 51.1 innings, with 79 strikeouts (35.3 K%) and 23 walks (10.3 BB%). Sando throws a fastball that sits around 89-91 mph and touches 93, with solid carry and some tailing life that he shows good feel to land. He also shows good feel for a slider in the low 80s that plays plus to lefthanders out of a lower, three-quarter slot and was also effective this spring against righties. Against righthanded hitters, Sando will use a mid-80s changeup more frequently and it is a solid third pitch that he buries down and to his arm side. While Sando has just six college starts under his belt, it wouldn’t be surprising for a team to draft him and start him in that role in pro ball thanks to a legitimate three-pitch mix. His delivery is fairly low maintenance, though his arm is late at foot strike at times.
