Track Record: Lagrange was one of the stars of the Yankees’ 2023 Florida Complex League team thanks to a massive 6-foot-6 frame and a high-octane fastball. A back injury in 2024 limited him to just 21 innings in the regular season before a trip to the Arizona Fall League. Lagrange stayed healthy in 2025 and rung up 168 strikeouts in 120 innings. His strikeout total ranked third overall in the minor leagues behind Jonah Tong and Elmer Rodriguez. He also earned the starting nod against the Orioles in the teams’ Spring Breakout meeting in March.
Scouting Report: Lagrange’s game is based around a powerful fastball that averaged 98 mph and peaked at 102. Among pitchers who threw their four-seamers 400 or more times, just five registered the same kind of velocity as Lagrange. The righthander backs his fastball with both a gyro slider and sweeper and throws the latter nearly twice as often as the former. Occasionally the gyro version will lose its shape and appear cutterish. He rounds out his mix with a changeup that is effective because of an 8 mph separation from his fastball rather than standout action. Lagrange is a big-bodied, slow-twitch athlete who needs everything to sync up perfectly to find the zone with regularity. His long limbs also make it hard to repeat his delivery and release point often enough to project average control or command.
The Future: Lagrange split his season between High-A and Double-A and should spend most of 2026 at Triple-A. There, he will be tested by the automated ball-strike system and its smaller strike zone. He’s likely to continue being developed as a starter, but scouts nearly universally believe his home is in the bullpen. In a reliever’s role, Lagrange has the kind of stuff that make him a dominant force in the late innings and potentially a high-end closer.

Track Record: Lagrange signed with the Yankees in 2022 and then spent his first season in the Dominican Summer League, where he racked up 43 strikeouts in 33 innings. He broke out in 2023 in the Florida Complex League, where he was part of a prospect-laden group that was the talk of the league. His development was mostly arrested in 2024 thanks to a back injury that limited his regular season to just 21 innings in the regular season and then five outings in the Arizona Fall League.
Scouting Report: At his best, Lagrange works with a high-octane three-pitch mix led by a fastball that sits in the mid 90s and touches triple digits. He backs it with a slider and a changeup. The former grades as a double-plus offering, and the latter took steps forward even in the limited reps he got in 2024. Scouts are concerned that Lagrange’s tall frame and long levers will cap his control at below-average. The Yankees say that the righthander’s work ethics took steps forward during his rehab, but he needs to make further strides tightening his delivery and improving his strike-throwing.
The Future: After a year mostly lost to injury, Lagrange will try to get back on track in 2025, which will likely be split between the Class A levels. His powerful arsenal will give him plenty of leeway toward developing as a starter. It also gives him a fallback option as a high-end reliever in the mold of former Yankee Dellin Betances.

Track Record: The Yankees signed Lagrange in 2022 out of the Dominican Republic. He spent his first pro season in the Dominican Summer League, where he allowed just 10 hits over 33 innings while striking out 43. He advanced stateside in 2023 and was part of an extraordinarily talented Florida Complex League that advanced to the championship round. His 63 strikeouts were the most in the league since 2018.
Scouting Report: Lagrange is a big, powerful righthander who cuts an intimidating presence on the mound and has the stuff to match. He primarily uses four- and two-seam fastballs that each sit between 95-97 mph and can reach triple-digits. The four-seamer is a monster, with high spin and horizontal break and a 44% miss rate. The two-seamer comes in a tick slower. His slider sits around 83 mph and induced a whiff rate of 48%. Lagrange has both a curveball and a changeup in his mix, but neither is thrown often and both have a long way to go before they’re truly viable parts of his arsenal. His control and command are below-average but showed improvement throughout the course of the season and he made his movement toward the plate more direct and consistent.
The Future: Lagrange is part of a pack of high-upside arms lurking at the back of the Yankees’ system. He has the ceiling of a no. 3 starter but could also be a bullpen hammer in the mold of Dellin Betances if he doesn’t improve his control or bring forward a third pitch.
