MLB Breakout Prospects To Watch In 2024 For Every Team

The start of the new season brings renewed promise for every MLB organization and, without fail, a slew of breakout prospects who boost their stock once games get underway.
We try to predict those breakouts each year at Baseball America as part of our Preseason Top 30 prospect rankings. A year ago, roughly one in every four players designated as a “breakout prospect” are now Top 10 Prospects in their organizations entering 2024. Among those accurate breakout picks are Orioles catcher Samuel Basallo, Pirates lefthander Anthony Solometo and righthander Nick Frasso and outfielder Josue De Paula, both of the Dodgers. All four prospects are now Top 100 caliber.
To qualify as a breakout prospect for this exercise, a player must rank outside the Top 10 Prospects in his organization entering the year.
