Deming is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound corner infielder with plenty of strength who is coming off a career-year in his fifth season at Brigham Young. He hit .418/.484/.915 with 19 home runs, 23 doubles, a 15.1% strikeout rate and a 10.4% walk rate. Deming hits the ball hard and averaged around 95 mph with a 109-mph 90th percentile mark, but he has plenty of swing-and-miss, particularly against secondary stuff. Deming has hit 92+ mph velocity fairly well, though he was exposed to few such pitches this spring at BYU.
