Allsup is a big and physical 6-foot-2, 235-pound righthander with plenty of arm strength. He sits in the mid-90s and will touch triple digits with his fastball, though his command of the pitch and its shape has often led to it getting hit harder and more consistently than expected. Allsup’s go-to secondary is a mid-80s slider with downer shape that is his best swing-and-miss offering, though against lefthanders he will up the usage of an upper-80s changeup and 12-to-6 curveball in the upper 70s. Allsup has a workhorse starter frame if he can stay in shape, but his history of below-average control adds reliever risk.
