Commit/Drafted: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 21.7
Boucher pitched out of the bullpen for Duke in 2021 and 2022, but made a few starts in 2023, even though the bulk of his work came in a reliever role once again. Overall he posted a 4.95 ERA through 40 innings, with a 33.7% strikeout rate and 14.3% walk rate. Boucher has a large frame at 6-foot-5, 235 pounds, and attacks hitters with a three-pitch mix. His best offering is a plus fastball that averaged 94 mph this spring and has been up to 98, with excellent carry and around 19 inches of induced vertical break. He generated a 33% miss rate on the fastball this spring, which is a well above-average number, and will also mix in a hard slider/cutter and a firm, upper-80s changeup. He needs to develop more feel on both of his secondaries, but the slider will flash three-quarter bite and shorter action at times and looks further along than a changeup that is rarely thrown for a strike. He profiles as a power-armed reliever, and pitched in the 93-96 mph range in a bullpen session at the 2023 MLB Draft Combine.
