Age At Draft: 18.4
BA Grade: 50/Extreme
Slawinski is a high-level multi-sport athlete with a background in baseball, football, basketball and track. He’s a prominent prospect on the diamond for his upside on the mound as a projection lefthander with a 6-foot-3, 185-pound frame. Slawinski was one of the buzziest up-arrow prospects in the state of Texas this spring. He’s a great mover on the mound who has a drop-and-drive delivery, a hooking arm action and a three-quarters arm slot. After pitching in the 88-90 mph range for much of the 2024 summer circuit, Slawinski’s velocity took a step forward during his senior season. He now sits in the low 90s and has pushed his fastball up to 95 mph at peak, while also mixing in a solid trio of secondaries. Slawinski has added power to his slider and now throws the pitch in the low 80s, with a slower and loopier front-end curveball that looks more like a fringe-average breaking ball. Slawinski also has some feel to spot a fading, low-80s changeup that looks like a reliable offering to attack righthanded hitters. His fastball, slider and changeup all earn average to a tick above-average grades, while the curveball trails behind but could still be a useful change-of-pace offering. Slawinski projects for solid or better control and looks like a starter. He’s committed to Texas A&M but could fit in the first three rounds of the draft.

Track Record: Slawinski was a four-sport star for small-town Lyndon B. Johnson High in Texas, playing football, basketball, track and field and baseball. Seeing an uptick in velocity, he struck out 177 batters his senior year—second-best in the nation—while allowing four runs in 75 innings. His pitching talents made him one of the better lefthanders in the 2025 draft class, and the Angels took him in the third round, luring him away from a Texas A&M commitment with a bonus of $2,497,500, on par with late first-round slot values.
Scouting Report: Slawinski is an athletic 6-foot-3 lefthander with rotation upside. As a prep senior, he went from sitting in the upper 80s to now sitting 90-93 mph and touching 95 with solid riding action. He throws a pair of breaking pitches: a low-80s, two-plane slider that gained bite and power his senior year and flashes above-average, and a fringy curveball that is slower and loopier. Slawinski has some feel for a low-80s changeup with notable fading action. His full arsenal—particularly his fastball—plays up due to his ability to mix and locate with ease. As he matures physically, Slawinski should be able to sustain his velocity and gain more mechanical consistency in his drop-and-drive delivery. He has all the ingredients and foundation to dream on a pitchability rotation arm. He is praised for his makeup and competitiveness.
The Future: Slawinski has a high ceiling by nature of being lefthanded and showing feel to locate a four-pitch arsenal at a young age. The ingredients are ripe for a back-end rotation arm, while improvements to his secondaries could raise his stock to a midrotation future. He’ll make his pro debut in 2026 in the low minors.
