Turnquist started his college career with Oklahoma in 2023, but has thrown limited innings over the last few seasons after missing most of two years with Tommy John surgery. In 2026 with Cal Poly, Turnquist logged his highest-volume season yet, posting a 3.50 ERA over 12 starts and 69.1 innings with a 26.8% strikeout rate. He’s a physical righthander with a 6-foot-5, 235-pound frame and plenty of arm strength but questions surrounding his athleticism and strikes. He sits around 94-95 mph with his fastball and has touched 98, and in 2026 he’s collected his fair share of whiffs with three secondaries that include a low-80s slider, mid-80s changeup and an upper-80s cutter.
