Jones showed an exciting uptick in velocity as a freshman with Wake Forest in 2026, where he pitched out of the bullpen as a reliable reliever. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound righty topped out around 96 mph in high school but has averaged 96 in college while touching 99. He has an assortment of different secondaries to pair with the fastball, though he primarily relies on a slider that has an impressive combination of power and movement. It’s a high-spin breaking ball in the upper 80s that has averaged more than a foot of gloveside sweep. Jones also throws a low-80s curveball, upper-80s cutter and upper-80s changeup. -

Jones is a 6-foot-3, 205-pound righthander with a solid blend of now stuff and future projection to get excited about. He attacks hitters with a solid delivery and a low three-quarters arm slot that gets fully sidearm at times. Jones pitched in the 90-94 mph range during the 2024 travel circuit, but he has topped out at 96 this spring and gets a solid amount of running life on his fastball from that low slot. In addition to the fastball, Jones will mix in an 80-85 mph slider with solid sweeping action and a mid-80s changeup. Jones has shown solid feel to land his fastball for strikes, but he does have a long, hooking arm action that could create some inconsistencies. Jones is committed to Wake Forest but could fit inside the first 10 rounds based on talent.
