  Track Record: Fernandez signed for $215,000 with the Guardians as a member of what’s looking like a rock solid 2024 international class. While Fernandez wasn’t the most high-profile name on signing day, he’s increasingly impressed scouts with his physicality and toolset. In 2025 he hit .333/.398/.558 with six home runs as one of the most interesting players in the Arizona Complex League, then earned a promotion to Low-A Lynchburg in August.
  
  Scouting Report: Fernandez is a switch-hitter and infielder with solid physicality right now and a frame that suggests more strength gains on the way. Fernandez has a solid swing from both sides of the plate with twitchy bat speed and a level path that leads to plenty of doubles now, but the upside for above-average power in the future. While Fernandez has some feel for the barrel, he’s one of the most aggressive hitters in Cleveland’s system. That leads to early-count swings against pitches he can’t drive and a muted walk rate. Scouts also think he’ll need to clean up some holes on the inner third of the plate. Fernandez is a bursty, plus runner who has a chance to stick at shortstop with more than enough arm strength, but an erratic defensive game that needs refinement.
  
  The Future: Fernandez needs more polish on both sides of the ball, but his toolset and physical upside give him everyday upside if he can make the requisite adjustments.
