Lodise was the ACC player of the year after a breakout 2025 season in which he hit .394/.462/.705 with 17 home runs and 18 doubles. Lodise has a lean, athletic frame at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds and employs a simple setup with a slightly crouched stance and an ear-high handset. He’s a good mover in the batter’s box and does a nice job getting into his back hip and using his lower half, which leads to exciting power upside and plenty of hard-hit balls. He can drive the baseball to all fields, though his highest quality of contact goes to his pull side with above-average raw power. Lodise is an aggressive hitter who might wind up with a power-over-hit offensive profile simply because of how much he swings and how frequently he expands the strike zone. Lodise chased at a 36% clip in 2025 and swung the bat more than half the time. He’ll get trigger-happy on elevated fastballs and will also need to sharpen his pitch recognition to more quickly recognize spin out of the pitcher’s hand. Lodise is a strong and powerful athlete in the dirt who has shown enough to give himself a chance to stick at shortstop. He’s not the typical fluid, graceful mover at the position, but he has impressive lateral range to go with a plus arm that has led to a handful of highlight reel plays from deep in the hole. He attacks the baseball and can throw from multiple slots. He’s an average runner.
