Jim Callis -

Owners of a 13 1/2-game lead in the National League East, the Mets have all but clinched a playoff berth. Arizona also kicked in $6.3 million, slightly less than half the remaining value of Green's contract.

The Mariners also contributed cash toward the remainder of Moyer's $5.5 million salary for 2006.
