Orioles’ Anthony Nunez Keeps Making Case For Bullpen Spot
Righthander Anthony Nunez, one of the pitchers the Orioles acquired from the Mets at the trade deadline last year, struck out two of the four batters he faced in a scoreless inning of relief work on Sunday. Nunez has been quite effective this spring, allowing three hits in five scoreless innings. He’s walked no one and struck out six. Nunez got two swings and misses out of three changeups he threw. He sat at 95-97 mph with his fastball, as he mixed in a cutter as well. Nunez threw nine strikes in 10 pitches. Nunez’s strike-throwing has been impressive all spring. He’s posted a 65% strike percentage.
