Prospect Report: Spencer Steer Homers To Continue Reds Rookie Excellence

Spencer Steer, 1B/OF Reds: Steer went 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs in the Reds’ 10-3 loss to the Orioles on Monday night. The 25-year-old has been overshadowed by rookie teammates Elly De La Cruz and Matt McLain lately, but he’s hit .282/.368/.493 with 12 home runs and 46 RBIs, most among all rookies, in a quietly excellent season.
Joey Wiemer, OF, Brewers: Wiemer hit the go-ahead two-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to lift the Brewers to a 2-1 win over the Mets. The 24-year-old center fielder now has 11 home runs on the season, tied for fifth-most among rookies.
Jordan Westburg, 2B, Orioles: Westburg made his major league debut and went 1-for-4 with a single, an RBI and a run scored in the Orioles’ 10-3 win over the Reds. Westburg walked in his first career plate appearance and notched his first career hit in the fifth inning with a bloop single into left field off of Reds reliever Eduardo Salazar.
