Prospect Report: Evan Carter Keeps Showing Surprising Power

Evan Carter, OF, Rangers: If evaluators had any concerns as Carter climbed through the minors, it was whether he’d hit for significant power. His 13 home runs this year was his career high in the minors. But in the majors, Carter has been a slugger. He hit his fifth home run in just 19 MLB games as he helped the Rangers get a step closer to locking up the AL West title.

Gavin Stone, RHP, Dodgers: Stone pitched Oklahoma City to a Pacific Coast League championship with a dominating 10-strikeout performance. Stone’s changeup was the difference maker, as he got 14 swings-and-misses with it. He actually ended up throwing his changeup as much as his fastballs.

Ben Joyce, RHP, Angels: Joyce looks to be healthy. He spun his sixth consecutive scoreless inning since returning from the injured list. His fastball sat at 101 mph, never dipped below 100 and topped out at 102.
