Prospect Report: Corbin Carroll Homers Again As D-Backs Roll
Corbin Carroll, OF, D-backs: Carroll is not not just the National League Rookie of the Year favorite by leaps and bounds—he’s a contender for the NL Most Valuable Player Award. Carroll went 1-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored in the D-backs 9-1 win over the Brewers on Monday. He is now batting .304 with 16 home runs, 39 RBIs and a .982 OPS that ranks second in the majors behind only Shohei Ohtani.
Josh Jung, 3B, Rangers: Jung went 3-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored to lead the Rangers to a 5-2 win over the White Sox. The 25-year-old third baseman leads all AL rookies with 15 home runs and now has an .848 OPS that is tied with Red Sox outfielder Masataka Yoshida for highest among AL rookies.
Triston Casas, 1B, Red Sox: Casas went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored to lead the Red Sox to a 9-3 win over the Twins. After a slow start to the season, Casas is batting .280 with six doubles, a triple, two home runs and nine RBIs in his last 22 games.
