Preseason College Baseball Top 25 Rankings, Season Previews

Teams across the nation are gearing up for another race to Omaha. And for now, they’ll all be chasing Vanderbilt. 

The Commodores open the season as the top-ranked team in the country and hopes to return to the College World Series for the first time since 2015. Vanderbilt returns eight regulars from last year’s lineup, headlined by J.J. Bleday, the No. 29 2019 MLB Draft prospect. Vanderbilt also brought in the second-best recruiting class of any team in the country in 2018. 

Vanderbilt is one of eight SEC teams ranked in the top 25. Two others — LSU and Florida — open the season within the top five. 

Last year’s champion, Oregon State, begins its title defense ranked No. 10, while CWS runner-up Arkansas is No. 18.
