Minor League Gold Glove Winners Announced

Minor League Baseball and Rawlings on Monday unveiled the Minor League Gold Glove winners. Winners are selected from qualifying players from the 10 domestic-based, full-season minor leagues.

Double-A Birmingham second baseman Joey DiMichele (White Sox) was the only repeat winner. The former Arizona State player had 579 total chances and had a .990 fielding percentage.

First baseman Matt Skole (Triple-A Syracuse/Nationals) had just one error in 874 chances; Shortstop Zach Vincej (Double-A Pensacola/Reds) had a .991 fielding percentage in 423 total chances; Third baseman Carlos Rivero (Triple-A Reno/Diamondbacks) made just two errors in 234 chances; Left fielder Charcer Burks (high Class A Myrtle Beach/Cubs) had seven assists; Akron center fielder Greg Allen (Indians) had a .994 fielding percentage; Right fielder Mike Gerber (high Class A Lakeland/Double-A Erie/Tigers) did not commit an error in 251 chances; catcher Jose Trevino (high Class A High Desert/Rangers) had a .998 fielding percentage and threw out 47 of 98 runners attempting to steal; and righthander James Naile did not make an error in 48 chances as he scaled the ladder from low Class A to Triple-A.
