If the goal of the Spring Breakout games is to give fans a chance to see baseball’s top prospects, the first year’s rosters are a clear success.

Almost two-thirds of all Top 100 Prospects are scheduled to play in a Spring Breakout game, including seven of the Top 10 Prospects in Baseball America’s Top 100 and 16 of the Top 25.

2024 Top 100 MLB Prospects

Our flagship preseason list ranks the best prospects across all of baseball.

The three missing prospects in the Top 10 (Junior Caminero, Evan Carter and Wyatt Langford) are all players who are playing regularly for their big league teams during spring training. The only other top 15 prospects not slated to play are Andrew Painter and Jasson Dominguez, both of whom are currently injured.

Padres shortstop Leodalis De Vries, the youngest player slated to play in these games, will play in the Spring Breakout series before his first official game–he signed with the Padres just two months ago.

The Padres lead the way with six Top 100 Prospects scheduled to play in their Spring Breakout game. The Brewers have five Top 100 participants, the Mariners, Red Sox and Yankees have four. Only four of the 30 teams will take the field without at least one Top 100 Prospect, and every game will feature at least one Top 100 prospect.

The most power-packed game from a prospect standpoint will be the Mariners-Padres game, which will feature 10 Top 100 Prospects. The Orioles-Pirates and Twins-Rays games will have six Top 100 Prospects.
