Jo Adell, Triple-A Salt Lake (Angels)—Adell crushed his 12th home run of the season and raised his OPS to .927, but the 22-year-old outfielder has six walks and 36 strikeouts in 101 at-bats this season.

Brett Baty, High-A Brooklyn (Mets)—The 2019 first-rounder hit his first homer of the season, a solo shot, in the first inning of a win over Jersey Shore. Baty is hitting .343 and has reached base at an impressive clip (.451 OBP), with 20 RBIs in 19 games.

Cameron Bishop, Double-A Bowie (Orioles)—Hartford hitters had no answers for Bishop on Tuesday, as he struck out 12, walked two and allowed two hits over five scoreless innings to move to 2-0, 4.43.

Daniel Cabrera, Dillon Dingler and Spencer Torkelson, High-A West Michigan (Tigers)—The 2020 draftees combined for six hits in 12 at-bats, including four doubles, three RBIs and three runs scored, in a win over Great Lakes.

Diego Cartaya, Low-A Rancho Cucamonga (Dodgers)—Cartaya has collected at least one hit in each of his first five games at the full-season level, and hit his third home run in a win over Inland Empire. Cartaya, one of the youngest players included in a 60-man player pool in 2020, has nine hits in 20 at-bats with eight RBIs.

Tim Cate, Double-A Harrisburg (Nationals)—Cate struggled to a 5.92 mark in May, with 25 hits and 12 walks allowed in 24.1 innings, but the 23-year-old lefthander took a step forward in a loss to Portland. Cate allowed one unearned run in a season-high 6.2 innings, striking out five, walking one and allowing three hits.

Roansy Contreras, Double-A Altoona (Pirates)—Contreras already has four starts of five or more scoreless innings this season, with the latest coming in a win over Richmond. The 21-year-old righthander looks like a steal for the Pirates after they acquired him and three other prospects from the Yankees for Jameson Taillon. Contreras, who struck out eight, walked none and allowed four hits, is 3-1, 1.63 with 42 strikeouts and six walks in 27.2 innings.

Xzavion Curry, Low-A Lynchburg (Indians)—The 2019 seventh-rounder did not pitch after signing, but he hasn't missed a beat in his first pro season. Curry struck out six and walked none over 5.1 innings, allowing an unearned run on three hits to earn his third win of 2021. The 22-year-old righthander is 3-0, 1.07 with 38 strikeouts and four walks in 25.1 innings.

Jake Eder, Double-A Pensacola (Marlins)—Eder allowed his second earned run of the season, but mostly cruised over 4.2 one-run innings. The 2020 fourth-rounder struck out eight, allowed four hits and walked one. Eder has 42 strikeouts and 12 walks in 24.2 innings.

Wander Franco, Triple-A Durham (Rays)—Franco turned in his second four-hit day of the season in a loss to Norfolk. The No. 1 prospect in baseball doubled, singled three times and drove in three runs. Franco is hitting .299/.361/.536 with four home runs and 21 RBIs as he inches closer to making his long-awaited major league debut.

Luis Gonzalez and Gavin Sheets, Triple-A Charlotte (White Sox)—Gonzalez and Sheets scored four times in a loss to Nashville. Gonzalez hit his second home run, a two-run shot, and went 1-for-4 with two runs scored. The 25-year-old outfielder has just seven hits in 37 at-bats, including two extra-base hits. Sheets doubled and singled to raise his slash line to .333/.375/.522 with four home runs and 19 RBIs.

Gunnar Henderson, Low-A Delmarva (Orioles)—Henderson collected four more RBIs, hit his seventh home run of the season and doubled once in a win over Fredericksburg. The 19-year-old shortstop leads the minor leagues in RBIs (34) and is hitting .321/.392/.655.

Dean Kremer, Triple-A Norfolk (Orioles)—Kremer showed promise in four starts in 2020, but this season has struggled mightily at the big league level, with an 0-5, 6.87 mark and 37 strikeouts and 16 walks in 38 innings. The 25-year-old righthander was optioned to Norfolk on May 26 and in his first start he struck out seven and walked two over four innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits.

Jake McCarthy, Double-A Amarillo (D-backs)—McCarthy provided the lone run in a loss to Frisco, hitting a homer in the sixth inning. The 23-year-old outfielder, who went 2-for-4 and stole his eighth base, is hitting .225/.295/.425 with four home runs and 12 RBIs.

Bo Naylor, Double-A Akron (Indians)—After recording just seven hits in 56 at-bats in May, Naylor went 2-for-4 in the first day of the new month, including hitting his first triple of the season. The 2018 first-rounder hit .243/.313/.421 with 18 doubles, 10 triples and 11 home runs at Low-A Lake County in 2019.

Kaden Polcovich, High-A Everett (Mariners)—The 2020 third-rounder hit two home runs and drove in four in a blowout win over Hillsboro. Polcovich has four home runs and 20 RBIs in 23 games.

Ethan Small, Double-A Biloxi (Brewers)—For the first time in his pro career (12 starts), Small struck out 10 or more batters. The 2019 first-rounder pitched five one-hit innings, striking out 11 and walking four against Montgomery. Small has struck out 38 batters over 22 innings, but has struggled with his control (17 walks).

The 25-year-old Ethan Small struggled with command in the second half after making his major league debut. A role change could point the way forward.
