Baseball America Prospect Report — August 3, 2021

Jose Siri Astros Johnwilliamson

Heliot Ramos, OF, Triple-A Sacramento (Giants) — Ramos got off to a 1-for-19 start after being promoted to Triple-A on July 22, but he’s starting to round into form. The 21-year-old outfielder went 4-for-4 with a double, a run scored and three RBIs in Sacramento’s 6-5 win over Reno. That included the go-ahead two-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning to fuel the River Cats’ comeback victory. After that slow start following his promotion, Ramos is now 10-for-26 (.384) in his last seven games.

Ryan Pepiot, RHP, Triple-A Oklahoma City (Dodgers) — Pepiot made his Triple-A debut on Monday and earned the win in Oklahoma City’s 9-5 victory over Round Rock. The 23-year-old righthander pitched five innings, allowed two hits and two runs, walked three and struck out seven. Pepiot allowed his only two runs in the second inning and responded by striking six of the next eight batters he faced, including striking out the side in the third inning. All in all he retired 10 of the final 12 batters he faced to finish on a high note and earn his first Triple-A victory.

Jose Siri, OF, Triple-A Sugar Land (Astros) — Siri has been around for a while, but he only recently turned 26 and is having his best season. The Dominican center fielder went 3-for-6 with a double and two runs scored in Triple-A Sugar Land’s 8-7 loss to El Paso on Monday. He now has a hit in six of his last seven games and upped his slash line to 308/.361/.515 on the season. While that performance has come playing in the Triple-A West, Sugar Land is actually an extreme pitcher’s park, lending some credibility to Siri’s numbers.
