Baseball America Prospect Report—April 29, 2021



Cole Irvin, LHP, Athletics  —Irvin struck out eight in six innings of work in the team's loss to the Rays. The 27-year-old allowed two runs on seven hits and one walk. Irvin has pitched to a 2-3, 3.67 mark in five starts, with 25 strikeouts and four walks in 27 innings.

Ha-Seong Kim 2B, Padres —San Diego's No. 5 prospect had his best game since joining the Padres, collecting two hits in five at-bats, scoring twice and driving in a season-high two runs against the Diamondbacks. Kim is 11-for-50 (.220) with a home run and four RBIs.

Ryan Weathers, LHP, Padres —Weathers exited the game after one inning against the Diamondbacks with left arm soreness. The 21-year-old lefthander has struck out 16 and walked six in 16.1 innings this season while allowing just one run.

Johan Oviedo, RHP, Cardinals —St. Louis' No. 10 prospect collected a career-high seven strikeouts in the team's loss to the Phillies. The 23-year-old righthander allowed three runs on three hits and two walks in five innings, inducing 17 swings and misses including eight with his slider. Oviedo has struck out 11 in 9.2 innings in two starts this season.

Dane Dunning, RHP, Rangers —Dunning struck out six in five innings of work against the Angels, but allowed four runs on six hits and one walk. The 26-year-old righthander has allowed nine earned runs in his last two starts, with a 1-1, 3.97 mark with 24 strikeouts and five walks in 22.2 innings on the season.
