2022 Arizona Fall League: Peoria Javelinas

The Arizona Fall League will begin its 2022 campaign on Oct. 3, the first day of six weeks of games in Phoenix. Preliminary rosters were announced today. While there are likely to be changes between now and Opening Day, this is the first version of the Peoria club, with prospects from the Mariners, Padres, Mets, Nationals and Guardians.

Top 100 Prospects: Robert Hassell III, OF, Nationals (23); Jackson Merrill, SS, Padres (85)

Intriguing Prospects: Padres prospect Jackson Merrill was outstanding both in spring training and at Low-A Lake Elsinore but was limited because of a wrist injury that cost him roughly two months of games. … Fellow Padres farmhand Joshua Mears has huge raw power that rivals anyone in the Fall League. … Guardians infielder Angel Martinez has big league bloodlines (his father is former catcher Sandy Martinez) and a skill set that pops both on paper and analytically as well because of his propensity to both stay within the strike zone while also making loud contact.
