2022 Arizona Fall League: Mesa Solar Sox

The Arizona Fall League will begin its 2022 campaign on Oct. 3, the first day of six weeks of games in Phoenix. Preliminary rosters were announced today. While there are likely to be changes between now and Opening Day, this is the first version of the Mesa club, with prospects from the Cubs, Yankees, Marlins, A’s and Rays.

Top 100 Prospects: Brennen Davis, OF, Cubs (48)

Intriguing Prospects: Jasson Dominguez is one of the most tooled-up prospects in the minors and rocketed all the way to Double-A for Somerset’s final week and playoff push. The lost pandemic season might have stunted his development somewhat, but he’s beginning to round into the kind of prospect who finds his way onto Top 100 lists. … Cubs first baseman Matt Mervis has had one of the best overall seasons in the minor leagues. The 24-year-old Duke alumnus rocketed from High-A South Bend to Triple-A Iowa by season’s end and was at or near the top of nearly every category that measured power production. … Two of the prospects from the A’s flurry of trades, Ryan Cusick (Matt Olson deal) and J.T. Ginn (Chris Bassitt deal) are among Oakland’s contingent. So, too, are interesting position prospects Denzel Clarke and Lawrence Butler.
