Gott has broken Kentucky's single-season (12 and counting) and career (27) saves records this spring. Though he stands just 6 feet and 190 pounds, he owns a 92-94 mph fastball with sink and run and is capable of reaching 96. He has done a better job of holding his velocity on consecutive days this year. Gott's delivery features a quick arm and deception rather than effort, so he throws strikes with ease. His biggest need is to tighten his slider, which operates in the low 80s and often winds up as a slurve. He also has aptitude for throwing a changeup, though he doesn't use it much. Gott has further aided his cause by dominating for two summers in the Cape Cod League and has shown no recurring effects from the shoulder bursitits that cut his 2012 Cape stint short.

The Angels surrendered four prospects in their July trade with the Padres to acquire closer Huston Street, but they got back one piece for the farm system in Gott. The former Kentucky closer set career and single-season saves records for the Wildcats before being a sixth-round pick in 2013. Gott brings plenty of arm speed from a smaller frame, with a fastball that sits in the 93 mph range, and reportedly has scraped 99, with late armside sink and plus life. His 79-81 mph slider shows life and flashes plus, but it's more of a slurve with just modest vertical break. Primarily a two-pitch reliever, Gott uses his 85 mph changeup infrequently. His delivery features a head jerk at the end, which could affect his command. Gott spent the second half of 2014 at Double-A Arkansas and finished the year with a successful Arizona Fall League stint. He should be ready for Triple-A Salt Lake in 2015 and has the ceiling of a high-leverage reliever
