School: Oregon Drafted/Committed: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 21.8
Hellman had extreme physicality and some of the best raw power in the 2022 class as a high schooler before making it to campus at Oregon. He struggled to tap into that power with any consistency in his first two seasons, but he cut down on his strikeouts in a big way as a junior in 2025 and hit a career-high 13 homers. Now listed at 6-foot-6, 250 pounds, Hellman is a towering presence in the box. He starts with an open stance and uses a toe tap to get back to even and start his stride. He has a significant hand hitch before firing his barrel through the zone. Hellman has 70-grade raw power and produced one of the best 90th percentile exit velocities of any qualified hitter in college baseball in 2025. But he also has significant contact questions and has always been a pull-heavy hitter. He improved his swing decisions as a junior and has cut down on his overall miss rates in 2025 while largely serving as Oregon’s DH. He’ll need to mash in pro ball to provide value. -
School: Jackson HS, Mill Creek, Wash. Committed/Drafted: Oregon
Age At Draft: 18.9
Hellman is an extra-large, 6-foot-6, 245-pound infielder who has some of the loudest raw power in the prep class. He puts on shows during batting practice and hits towering balls to left field, with some scouts thinking he has a chance to grow into 80-grade raw power in the future. How much of that power Hellman can tap into regularly in games is a significant question. He’s shown an extremely pull-heavy approach as an amateur and often gives up the outer third of the plate entirely, struggling with pitch recognition and swing decisions. If he can improve his offensive game, he has impressive power potential and he has also moved well for a bigger player in the past, though he added plenty of weight this spring. Some scouts might give him a chance to play third base at the next level, though he is a solid candidate to move to a corner outfield position or first base. He has arm strength that could fit in right field and the raw power to profile in any corner. Hellman is committed to Oregon.
