Age At Draft: 20.2
Tucker is an undersized, 5-foot-9, 155-pound middle infielder with a strong tool set and terrific performance with New Mexico JC this spring. He hit .407/.487/.785 with 17 home runs, 20 doubles, 37 stolen bases and nearly as many walks (34) as strikeouts (36) through 58 games. While some might criticize juco competition, there’s no denying Tucker’s raw tools. He is an easy plus runner who has solid power that should be more doubles juice with a wood bat and a chance to stick at shortstop. It’s more likely he moves to second base, but he is a twitchy athlete with quickness and average arm strength so he should at least get a chance to stick at the position before he moves, and his tools could also play well in center field. Tucker is committed to Texas A&M for the 2023 season and could continue to improve his draft stock with performance in the SEC.
