Widener was a part of Oral Roberts’ College World Series team, pairing with All-American closer Cade Denton for a formidable 1-2 punch in the bullpen. Widener overpowered hitters with a low-90s fastball and a sweeping slider, that can be a plus offering. His 6-foot-7, 235-pound frame and sidearm delivery make for an uncomfortable at bat, especially for lefthanded hitters. HIs pure stuff is exciting, but he’ll have to refine his command to harness his upside.
