Neal was drafted in the 32nd round by the Braves in 2015 after showing elite athleticism and the power to profile as a corner outfield bat. He didn't sign and instead joined Steve Spurrier's football team at South Carolina, before transferring to USC Sumter to get back on the diamond, where he hit .331 in 46 games.

Neal was a two-sport star at Stephenson High and is expected to continue on that path at South Carolina as a wide receiver and an outfielder. Listed at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, he combines a strong frame with plus speed and elite athleticism. He has a smooth righthanded swing with enough raw power to profile in an outfield corner. His tools are raw because of the time he's spent playing football, but he's shown the ability to juggle both sports, as he went to the WWBA World Championships in Jupiter in the middle of football season last fall and performed well. Neal might be signable for the right price, but it's more likely that he's suiting up for Steve Spurrier this fall.
