  Track Record: Zazueta signed with the Yankees in 2022 on the strength of a body with plenty of remaining projection and an athletic background that included a father who played for nearly two decades in Mexico. After two seasons in the Dominican Summer League, New York dealt him to Los Angeles in the deal that netted them reliever Caleb Ferguson. He’s made steady progress with the Dodgers and reached High-A for a season-ending cameo.
  
  Scouting Report: Zazueta has begun to build on the projection teams saw in him as an amateur, having added roughly 17 pounds to his frame since signing. The gains have amplified his mix, which currently includes an excellent fastball and changeup as well as a developing breaking ball. His heater sits around 93 mph and peaked at 98 in 2025 and is effective thanks to a lower release height and excellent extension. His changeup, which comes in around 85 mph, was his most missed and chased pitch and projects to be above-average. Its shape is inconsistent, but at its best it shows strong fade and tail away from lefties. All year, Zazueta worked to find an ideal breaking ball. He went back and forth between a slider and a sweeper—sometimes with both at once until they started blending together—and there’s still work to be done in that department. He threw plenty of strikes and should have at least above-average control when he reaches the big leagues.
  
  The Future: Zazueta will return to High-A in 2026. There, he’ll work to find the best breaking ball for his delivery as a way to round out his arsenal.
