A Tallahassee prep product, Francis is a big-bodied righthander with a low three-quarter arm slot who has taken a big step forward primarily thanks to a jump in fastball velocity. Scouts with a history of evaluating him previously saw him as an upper-80s sinkerball pitcher, but this season he's been in the low 90s as a starter and the mid 90s during shorter outings. In addition to his improved fastball he also offers a hard slider and projects to be a bullpen arm at the next level. He hasn't had elite strikeout numbers (75 in 79 innings) while making 12 of his 19 appearances as a starter for Chipola heading into the NJCAA World Series.
