  Track Record: De Los Santos was among Pittsburgh’s top 2022 international targets when he signed for $1.2 million. In 2023, they aggressively pushed him to Low-A Bradenton, where he struggled over 38 games before being sent back to the Florida Complex League. De Los Santos returned to the FCL in 2024 and posted a .912 OPS across 57 games before once again continuing on to Bradenton, where he hit .195/.300/.264 in 25 games.
  
  Scouting Report: Scouts saw a twitchy, projectable athlete with improved bat speed in 2024, leading to above-average exit velocities for his age. After his struggles, the Pirates implored De Los Santos to stick to a more consistent approach and stabilize the lower half of the swing to help improve his timing. He makes solid in-zone contact, and evaluators believe De Los Santos can be a fringe-average hitter if he tightens his swing decisions, especially his willingness to chase against spin. He’s a solid runner and a flashy defender with solid actions and body control at shortstop. He plays with energy and passion, but has just average range. Some external evaluators worry he’ll one day outgrow the position.
  
  The Future: Several aspects of his game need significant tightening, but De Los Santos has the tools to one day be an impactful big league contributor. He’ll get a third crack at Low-A Bradenton in 2025.
