A 6-foot-3, 190-pound lefthander, Early started his career at Army, but transferred to Virginia for the 2023 season, where he was a reliable college performer as a full time starter for the Cavaliers. He has a light fastball currently, and sits 90 mph and has been up to 93. He will also mix in a slider around 80, a curveball in the upper 70s and a changeup in the low 80s.
