  Track Record: Toman was a celebrated South Carolina prep hitter from a well-known baseball family when the Blue Jays drafted him in the supplemental second round in 2022. He signed for an above-slot $2 million and debuted following the draft in the Florida Complex League. Toman spent his first full professional season with Low-A Dunedin, hitting .208/.320/.313 with five home runs in 114 games.
  
  Scouting Report: Toman was once viewed as an advanced switch-hitter with developing power, but his hit tool has taken a sizable step backward as a professional. His lefthanded swing has long been ahead of his righthanded swing. Toman struggled throughout the season with all pitch types but was particularly exposed by breaking balls. He did show an average approach at the plate, doing a solid job of discerning balls from strikes. Toman’s raw power showed as just fringe-average and his lack of barrel control limited impact on his best-struck drives. Toman is currently an average runner who should slow down. He played predominantly third base in 2023, seeing some time at shortstop as well. Toman is an average defender at third with an above-average arm.
  
  The Future: Toman will need to recapture his hitting ability from his amateur days in order to fulfill his second-division regular ceiling.

  Track Record: Toman grew up around the game as the son of longtime college coach Jim Toman, who most recently coached at Middle Tennessee State. Tucker established himself early as one of the top high school hitters for his age and was drafted by the Blue Jays in the supplemental second round with the 77th overall pick in 2022. He signed for an above-slot $2 million to forgo a Louisiana State commitment and made his professional debut with a strong, albeit abbreviated, showing in the Florida Complex League.
  
  Scouting Report: Toman is a gifted switch-hitter with advanced plate discipline and a knack for contact. He's a pure hitter who displays plus bat speed and feel for the barrel from the left side and makes consistent hard contact. His righthanded swing lacks loft and doesn't have much power behind it, but his discerning eye and advanced command of the strike zone allow him to be a threat from both sides of the plate. He's at least an above-average hitter and could grow into average power with physical maturity. While views on Toman's long-term upside were split among amateur evaluators, few questioned Toman's ability to hit with wood in pro ball. The Blue Jays drafted Toman as a shortstop, but he projects to move to second base. He's a fringy runner with fringy arm strength that plays up with a quick release and solid accuracy.   A 6-foot-1, 187-pound infielder, Toman stands out for his power potential from both sides of the plate, but he earned mixed reviews for his performance over the summer showcase circuit. Scouts had vastly different thoughts on his ability as a hitter depending on where they saw him, and those who saw him at his best and his worst were likely wondering which extreme was the real Toman, or whether the truth was somewhere in between. At his best (like at the Area Code Games), Toman found barrels from both sides of the plate and drove the ball with authority and impact, and at his worst he swung and missed with frequency and looked overmatched at the plate with poor swing decisions out of the zone. Toman has plenty of strength currently, with bat speed and a leveraged swing that is geared to elevate baseballs.
