BA Grade/Risk: 45/Average
Adjusted Grade: 35
Track Record: Nezuh never fulfilled his recruiting hype at Florida State or Louisiana-Lafayette and fell to the Astros in the 14th round of the 2023 draft. In his first two professional seasons Nezuh has found a level of success that escaped him in college. He made 18 appearances—16 starts—for Double-A Corpus Christi. He missed six weeks with a right elbow strain in late May and returned in early July.
Scouting Report: Nezuh is an undersized righthander who does a good job getting downhill and generates above-average extension. Nezuh has a simple operation with a semi-windup, short, compact arm action and high three-quarters slot. He does a good job repeating his operation leading to above-average fastball control. Nezuh throws five pitches: a four-seam fastball, slider, sweeper, curveball and changeup. His fastball sits 93-94 mph and touches 96 with above-average ride and cut, and he lands it for strikes consistently. Nezuh’s splitter was his most thrown secondary and it’s a true chase pitch, as it was rarely thrown in-zone in 2025. The splitter is Nezuh’s best swing-and-miss pitch but improved command would make it a potential plus pitch. Nezuh mixes a trio of breaking ball shapes in a mid-80s cutter, high-70s-to-low-80s sweeper and an upper-70s curveball. The cutter has true cutter shape with ride and heavy cut and Nezuh shows advanced command for the pitch. His sweeper is a work in progress and his curveball is rarely used. Despite plus fastball control, Nezuh shows fringe-average command of his secondaries.
The Future: Nezuh is a future depth starter who could move between spot-starter and long reliever.

BA Grade/Risk: 45/High.
Track Record: A highly touted recruit who began his collegiate career with Florida State, Nezuh never made an impact with the Seminoles and transferred to Louisiana-Lafayette prior to his junior season and made 18 starts for the Ragin’ Cajuns but was hit hard, leading to a 6.00 ERA. The Astros took a shot on Nezuh in the 14th round and signed him for $150,000. Nezuh debuted in 2024 in Low-A, making 18 appearances prior to a promotion to High-A on July 23. Over 120.1 innings Nezuh pitched to a 8-6 record with a 3.89 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 151 strikeouts.
Scouting Report: Nezuh is an undersized righthander with a deep pitch mix and a prototypical pronation-dominant profile. His mix consists of a fastball, changeup, slider, curveball and cutter. Nezuh’s dominant pitches are a four-seam fastball in the low-90s with plus ride and a split-changeup that sits 79-80 mph. Nezuh’s four-seam fastball and changeup have over a 12 mph separation in velocity and a nearly three-degree separation in flight plane. This allows Nezuh’s changeup to be dominant, generating a 28.1% swinging strike rate. Nezuh’s trio of breaking balls in his low-80s slider, mid-to-high-80s cutter and mid-70s curveball were all hit hard in 2024. Nezuh throws an average number of strikes with all of his pitches and shows average command overall.
The Future: Nezuh should get his first taste of the upper-minors in 2025 and has a chance at developing into a back-of-the-rotation starter.
Scouting Grades: Fastball: 50 | Curveball: 40 | Slider: 45 | Changeup: 55 | Cutter: 45 | Control: 50.
Draft Prospects
-
A 6-foot-2, 175-pound righthander committed to Florida, Nezuh has a solid three-pitch mix and good feel for pitching and throwing strikes. He throws with a clean delivery, despite lacking standout athleticism, but his stuff is closer to fringe-average across the board. He pitches mostly in the 89-91 mph range with his fastball, and pairs that offering with a slider and a changeup, which both could be average offerings, but need improvement to get there. Most scouts are inclined to let Nezuh get to campus at Gainesville, where he has all the tools to be a successful pitcher in the SEC, and see if his stuff takes a jump at some point in the next three years.
