Drafted in the 13th round (401st overall) by the Chicago White Sox in 2022 (signed for $75,000).
View Draft Report
A semi-productive starter at Jacksonville, Adams’ strikeout-to-walk ratio (108-to-31) and fielding independent pitching numbers were better than his 4.80 ERA. Adams is a strike-throwing righthander with feel for pitching and average secondaries (low-80s slider, mid-80s changeup) that help make up for a fringe-average 91-93 mph fastball. He’s a senior sign candidate as a money saver.

Track Record: A 13th-round senior sign out of Jacksonville in 2022, Adams ranked 13th in the White Sox system entering 2025 on the strength of his pitchability and strike-throwing after ending the previous season with Triple-A Charlotte. He even had a chance to reach the majors at some point that season. Instead, Adams was one of a handful of White Sox hurlers who needed Tommy John surgery prior to the beginning of the season and he missed all of 2025.
Scouting Report: Adams commands the zone with five pitches and two fastballs, relying more on his two-seamer than his four-seamer. Both pitches average 92 mph and touch 94. They play up because of their movement and Adams’ ability to locate both pitches. His best secondary pitch is an above-average 81 mph curveball that touches 84. It’s his best swing-and-miss pitch and its movement compensates for its lower spin rate. Adams also throws an average 84 mph slider and 88 mph changeup, with the latter having more depth and run than his two-seamer. Adams is quite comfortable pitching to contact and often works backward, pitching to a 24.6% strikeout rate to just a 4.6% walk rate in 17 Double-A starts in 2024. His competitiveness and pitchability have helped him outperform expectations.
The Future: Adams is expected to return a few months after spring training and should settle into Triple-A Charlotte’s rotation once healthy. He’s an effective strike-thrower who can round out a rotation.
Track Record: Adams was drafted by the White Sox in the 13th round in 2022 out of Jacksonville as an affordable senior sign for $75,000. Already 22 by the time he made his pro debut, Adams moved quickly through the organization thanks to his pitchability and strike-throwing ability. While it would be easy to categorize Adams as an organizational player based on his amateur background, his success at each level of pro ball—which includes a 2.70 ERA in 103.1 innings at Double-A in 2024—makes him an intriguing sleeper with a chance for big league time in 2025.
Scouting Report: Adams commands the zone with a full arsenal of five pitches and uses his two-seamer twice as much as his four-seamer. Both fastballs average 92 mph and touch 94 while playing up due to the movement he gets on the pitches and how well he locates them. Adams’ best secondary pitch is an above-average curveball averaging 81 mph and touching 84. It’s his swing-and-miss pitch, with the movement on it compensating for the lower spin rate. An 84 mph slider and 88 mph changeup are both average pitches, with the latter having more depth and run than his two-seamer. Adams pitches to contact and often works backward, resulting in a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 101-to-19 in 17 Double-A starts. He’s a strong competitor on the mound with notable pitchability.
The Future: Not a frontline starting pitcher, Adams is the kind of effective strike-thrower who will round out an MLB rotation. He returns to Triple-A Charlotte after getting five starts there in 2024.
